What are Ölbaren’s opening hours?
The bar is open Mon–Wed 16–23, Thu 14–01, Fri–Sat 12–01, Sun 14–23. The kitchen is open Mon 16–21, Tue–Wed 16–22, Thu 16–23 and Fri–Sat 12–23. On Sundays the kitchen is closed, but the bar is open 14–23.
Does Ölbaren serve food?
Yes, every day except Sunday (when the kitchen is closed). Alongside the beer we serve simple but seriously good dishes and snacks, such as a Grilled Reuben, truffle burger, steak frites, moules frites and a nacho plate, plus olives, Marcona almonds, beer sausage and cheese & charcuterie. Does Ölbaren host beer tastings?
Yes, always! Our taster tray is an easy beer tasting: pick 3 beers of your choice from the taps, 15 cl each, for 149 SEK (89 SEK at after-work, weekdays 16–18). Snacks to share cost 30 SEK per person. No booking needed. For groups of 6–50 people we tailor a tasting that pairs different beers with dishes from our menu, around 500–750 SEK per person – email info@olbaren.se to book. Can we book a beer tasting for a group or a company?
Yes, for groups of 6–50 people. A group tasting takes 2–3 hours: usually 3 beers with a first dish and 3 beers with a second dish. You share the food, so everyone ends up with a full main course plus some snacks. We can build a theme around your wishes, in Swedish or English, any day during opening hours. Guide price 500–750 SEK per person depending on the format. Email info@olbaren.se with the date, number of people and any wishes.
What beers does Ölbaren have?

Is Ölbaren a good place for after-work drinks in Borås?
Definitely. We open at 16 Monday to Wednesday, at 14 on Thursdays and Sundays and at 12 on Fridays and Saturdays – and stay open until 01 Thursday to Saturday – right on Stora Torget in central Borås. At after-work, weekdays 16–18, our taster tray of 3 beers of your choice (15 cl each) is just 89 SEK.
Does Ölbaren sell gift cards?
Yes, you can buy a digital Ölbaren gift card online through the Buy a gift card link on our website. Gift cards can also be bought in person at Ölbaren and the other Viskan Group restaurants: Viskan Cafe Centrum, Viskan Knalleland, Balthazar Cafe, Balthazar Restaurang, Viskan Vinbar and Noosh.
